JEWELRY 101: Accessories designer Monique Péan is showing 20 high schoolers the ins and outs of her job, as part of the Cooper-Hewitt’s Design Prep program. The designer started the two-day workshop Wednesday at the new Todd Oldham-designed Cooper-Hewitt Design Space on Central Park North in New York and she will wrap it up today at her Meatpacking District studio. (Target provided funding for the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s 1,500-square-foot uptown location.)
Once all is said and done, the public school participants will each offer a bangle design. One winner will have his or hers made to be auctioned on Charity:Buzz, with proceeds benefiting the Cooper-Hewitt’s Design Prep program.
